Looking for solutions to host files and apps at home and not pay for online hosting.
YUNoHost
The first one I heard of that would be a good solution to achieve what I want.
Nevertheless, my first experiences with it were on a Raspberry Pi B (the very first one !) and the performance were barely acceptable.
Owncloud
Heard of it, but I never installed it. Seeing another trainee using it to grab and save files online decided to me make to move. It was the time of a teamsplit. This led me to read about Nextcloud and to start to use it.
Nextcloud
installation on a shared hosting.
installation at home.
rely on a service provider.
Cozycloud
I took interest in this one as it was a french built software and Gelnior was its CTO.
Its interesting advantage was the option of gathering all banking and invoicing information in one place.
Unfortunately, this feature relied on an Amazon hosted software and this is were my trust stopped.
I subscribed for a while to their free offer in order to test the service but never went past this.
HomelabOS
At the time I took interest in this one, it was strongly relying on docker to make apps run.
